Peace Corps Volunteers Needed

Time is running out, but it’s not too late to submit your application if you’re ready to depart for Peace Corps service in 2007. But you must apply immediately and meet the qualifications for departing programs! Go to www.peacecorps.gov/application to complete an online application.

It’s not too early to apply now if you’re interested in beginning your Peace Corps service in 2008. Because the application process can take up to twelve months to complete, individuals are encouraged to apply well in advance of their preferred departure date.
The Peace Corps promotes world peace and friendship by assisting with grass-roots development projects in education, health, HIV/AIDS, business, IT, agriculture, and environment in 73 countries around the world. Peace Corps volunteers must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and commit to 27 months of service.
In addition to helping others help themselves, the benefits of Peace Corps service include paid travel and living expenses, student loan deferment, intensive language and cross-cultural training, 48 vacation days, medical and dental care, graduate school opportunities, $6,075, preferred hiring status for federal jobs, and the experience of a lifetime!
