Evergreen Fire and Rescue News: District Judge extends recall election to Nov. 13

November 4th, 2007 | by EvergreenRotary |

EVERGREEN – District Court Judge Jane Tidball has approved an extension for Evergreen Fire Protection District’s recall election. Despite what the mail-in ballots state, the new deadline for the receipt of ballots is 7 p.m. on November 13.

Voters can mail their ballots to Evergreen Fire/Rescue anytime between now and then, but the ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Nov. 13. Voters also can deliver their ballots personally to EFR’s administration building at 1802 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen, CO 80439, but only during regular business hours between now and Nov. 12. The office will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 13.

Additionally, voters may go to the EFR administration building and vote with a replacement ballot between now and the close of the election. The extension followed a series of miscommunication and equipment failures by Premier Election Solutions, the company contracted by EFR to print and mail the ballots for the election.

EFR’s Designated Election Official Christina Griggs said the ballots will still have the regular election date listed on them, yet voters have until Nov. 13 to submit those ballots.
