Instructions for Bell Ringers
November 20th, 2007 | by EvergreenRotary |by Todd Guelich
As you all know, we will be utilizing both of the Wal*Mart doors to ensure the best collection efforts in our Salvation Army Bell Ringing project.
Door #1 is the south door closest to Home Depot. Door #2 is the old original Northern door closest to I70 and the new Grocery Door.
On each door, there is a closet with a closed door in the airlock vestibule between the outside and inside entrance doors. In this room will be the Kettle and a basket with Bell and Rotary Aprons. Door #1 has the door on the left wall as you enter and door #2 has the door on the right wall. Both will be unlocked.
FIRST SHIFT INSTRUCTIONS: Pull out the Kettle from the closet and place it outside under cover so as to maximize visibility but not interfere with people arriving or leaving.
MY KETTLE IS FULL OR I HAVE THE FINAL SHIFT INSTRUCTIONS: There are bank deposit bags in the basket with supplies. All end of day/shift or full kettle donations should be given to the customer service desk inside Wal*Mart. They will keep it for pick up by the Salvation Army rep.
FINAL SHIFT: return the kettle back to the closet and the bell/supplies to the baskets.
HELPFUL HINT: Dogs, kids (only if cute), music, costumes are all welcome as they seem to attract donations. Smile, smile smile and enjoy yourself. If it is cold, look forlorn and miserable, this helps the donations also.
IMPORTANT: Please be considerate to your fellow volunteers by arriving on time. If you are unable to meet your shift obligations, call the individuals before and after your scheduled shift and let them know. If you cannot meet the shift obligation, please find a replacement.
Finally, thank you for all your time and consideration to this outstanding Rotary project.
