Skate the Lake on New Year’s Eve

As the holiday season progresses, we move towards planning for New Year’s Eve and the famous Evergreen tradition of Skate the Lake to benefit DRIVE SMART.

Last year’s snow and warm weather canceled this event which has been expanded this year to a Winter Carnival. Should the ice not be ready, the show will go on and the Rotary van drivers will be needed to shuttle the attendees from Safeway/Christ the King to the Lake on New Year’s Eve.

We have eliminated the last midnight shift as we will have two school buses running at that time and the busy 6-9 timeframe we will have a third school bus to assist in the arrival departure rush.

Many thanks to those Rotarians who have driven in the past and with those thanks, we hope you will find the time to participate in this enjoyable and short task. For the time spent ringing the Salvation Army Bell (note the plug) you can be sitting in a warm van welcoming your neighbors.

Please give me a call with any questions and email me with the times that best fit your schedules. The sign up sheet is NOT interactive, so just send me a return email and I will plug your name into the desired time.
