Special Opportunity to obtain Paul Harris Recognition

Dave Beall, our District Governor, has made a special offer to obtain recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow. As you know, normally, it requires donations to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International totaling $1000 to attain recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow or additional donations totaling $1000 to reach PH +1, 2 etc. status.

Dave said the District will match a member’s donation of $500 with District points so that the donor would qualify for Paul Harris recognition. It also applies if someone wants to reach the next level, e.g. Paul Harris plus one (or more). Moreover, there is no requirement for the donor to eventually contribute the remaining $500 that the District is handling through points, but of course it is hoped that Rotarians would consider making annual donations to The Rotary Foundation when possible. This is truly a wonderful gesture to attain this recognition at half the usual required donation!

In order to coordinate this, anyone who is interested in taking advantage of this one time offer should send me a check by no later than June 9th in the amount of $500, made payable to The Rotary Foundation. Send the check to my home address:

I urge all of you to give this some thought, as well as to reflect on how these funds are used throughout the world to improve the lives of so many who are less fortunate than we. In particular, think about Ed Mattson’s excellent presentation today on all that Rotary does.
