The Girl Who Silenced the World for 6 Minutes

June 4th, 2008 | by EvergreenRotary |

Listen to this girl from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Here is a terrific appeal from a young teenager who makes sense in front of an international Environmental Conference in Rio de Janeiro.

Dear Rotary family,

I cannot begin to express how moved I was with the presentation we heard last Friday. I believe it’s not so much what you know, it’s who you know and that was the most amazing example I have ever heard of how Rotary “gets things done.” What I heard was that making a positive difference in the world is not that difficult…if Rotary is involved.

This video brought on a great amount of tears because there is so much need in this world. We are really starting to find out how bad the state of the world is. There is so much need for change…but Rotary I believe is the vehicle to make that change.

Love,
Ben Allen
