Community Service
Community Service covers the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in its community.
We address local needs supported by Heart Safe in Evergreen, Yellow House, Habitat for Humanity, Alpine Search and Rescue, Friendship Bridge, Mt. Evans Hospice and Health Care Services, Senior Resource Center, Evergreen Interact, Mountain Area Land Trust, student exchanges, scholarships, foundations, and many, many more…
Specific programs supported by Evergreen Rotary include (in alphabetical order):

This effort is a truly community based, organized and financed effort. Along with the Mountain Recyclers, the community banks in Evergreen have joined in the financial support of the program. The five banks that have begun to assist in the program are the Evergreen National Bank, 1st Bank, Community Bank, Key Bank and US Bank. - Evergreen Area Music Programs
- Evergreen Fire Protection District
For the purchase of Automatic Defribrillators. We want to make Evergreen a heart-safe community. Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are used to deliver an electrical shock to persons in cardiac arrest and have been shown to decrease mortality when used in conjunction with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Once only the domain of highly trained emergency professionals, these technologically advanced defibrillators are easy to use and fast becoming the standard of care in several industries such as on board airlines and cruise ships, and in other public places. - Evergreen High School Programs
- Evergreen Interact Club (Young Rotarians)
“Interact” means International Action. Today there are more than 7,780 Interact clubs in some 107 countries and geographical areas, making Interact a truly worldwide phenomenon. The Interact Club of Evergreen High School was chartered in 1999 and is sponsored by the Evergreen Rotary Club. - Evergreen Rotary Foundation
The Evergreen Rotary Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation whose sole purpose is to receive, raise, and distribute funds for charitable, civic, cultural and educational uses. This public foundation is dependent entirely on voluntary contributions, which may be made at any time, to support the many and varied projects of the Rotary Club of Evergreen. Contributions and bequests are accepted from the general public, organizations, businesses, Rotarians, and their families. Mt. Evans Hospice and Home Health Care is a private, non-profit agency managed by a community-based board of directors. The agency is Medicare/Medicaid certified for hospice and home health care and accepts private insurance and private pay based upon a sliding fee scale.
Mountain Resource Center (www.mountainresourcecenter.org) - Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
RYLA is an intensive training program for community youth leaders. Young people chosen for their leadership potential attend an all-expenses-paid seminar, camp, or workshop to discuss leadership skills and to learn those skills through practice.
