Rotary Club of Evergreen:
 
ECDS request….CAE is where we might be…. Due to security concerns at the school, we will have to relocate our Friday meeting location soon. Chuck and Mindy are zeroing in on the Center for the Arts Evergreen as a likely new home. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
 
GRANDPARENTS DAY at Evergreen Country Day School 4/19. We’re requested to park in the back lot due to the extra cars that day.

ROTARIANS DOING BUSINESS WITH ROTARIANS! 
Who better to work with than your fellow Rotarian? Check out the new Rotary Business Network page on the District website. This is a great opportunity to support other members in the District, and know that the person you're working with lives by the 4-Way Test. You can find a list of businesses or join the monthly Zoom connections meeting the first Wednesday of every month.
 
Bob Rose spoke on the Rotary Cause for Peace. He cited the works of Rotary Peace Fellows from the following countries; Philippines, Kenya, Argentina, Ghana, Austria, Pakistan, USA and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. President Chuck awarded Scott White his Paul Harris Fellow (plus 3) recognition, and Scott spoke about how easy it is to automatically donate, ie $25/month to help fund our Rotary International projects. Our RCE club has many PHF participants and we are grateful for their support. General Announcements
 
Ted Ning said that Mt. Evans Home Health Care and Hospice is hosting a free seminar about “The Conversation Project.” How to talk about your end of life wishes with your loved ones. It will be held on Tuesday, April 16th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, Mt. Evans location at 3081 Bergen Peak Drive, Evergreen, first floor conference room. Kay LaMontagne encouraged RCE members to participate in the upcoming Area 8 dinner where presidents from our mountain area will share their activities this past year. The cost has been reduced to $40, down from $60 earlier. This is always a fun and interesting gathering.
 
Erica Sprenkel said that we still need volunteers for all parts of the Foothills Home, Garden & Lifestyle Show, April 13-14 at Conifer High School. Kris Kazian announced that on Monday June 3rd, Evergreen Fire Rescue is holding a golf outing at Hiwan Country Club to benefit Evergreen Public Access Defibrillation. More information can be found at https://www.evergreenfirerescue.com/divisions/emergency_medical_services/epad_golf_tournament.php
 
Kelly Garrod mentioned that the International Service Committee is having their meeting on next Tuesday, 6pm at Windermere Real Estate, 32045 Castle Ct Suite 101, Evergreen. Everyone is welcome.
 
Bruce Anderson announced that Rowdy Rotarians are meeting this coming Thursday, April 11th at the Woodcellar Bar & Grill 1552 Bergen Pkwy #101, Evergreen. We’ll meet and get rowdy from 5-7 pm.
 
Bruce also announced that the next Boogie at the Barn event is actually the Boogie at the Bear. It’ll be held at the Little Bear Saloon, 28075 CO-74, Evergreen, Sunday April 14th, 1-8 pm. The beneficiary of this event is PeaceWorks, a shelter for victims of Intimate Partner Violence. More information at https://peaceworksinc.co/
 
Our Speakers
 
Our speakers today were Rich Phillips and Dr. Richard Ratigan who are representing the Alzheimer's Association, which is a nonprofit organization focused on education, support and funding of many national and international research projects. As volunteers, they are sharing their personal stories and medical understanding of this difficult disease with the purpose of providing valuable education and support services to our community. More information about this valuable resource can be found at https://www.alz.org/
